As you can imagine, Transmitters are an important part of this hobby. There would be
no RC anything without a Transmitter (Tx) to send signals and a Receiver (Rx) to
receive those signals.
There are many different brands Tx's in all different price ranges with many layouts.
You can get Tx's with as little as 4 channels and as many as 12 channels. The more
channels you have the more things you can hook up. An retractable wheels, the
movement of those wheels are controlled through a channel on the radio system. All
collective pitch helicopters are require 6ch's to work properly.
Tx's are also available in 4 different "modes" which have the controls laid out
differently. Most common is Mode 2, thats what most learn on and is the only mode we
use in the US.
